  1. By the time John pulled into the only motel in the little
  2. town every room had been taken.  "You've got to have
  3. a room somewhere." he pleaded.  "Or just a bed--I
  4. don't care where."
  5.  
  6. "Well, I do have a double room with one occupant
  7. who's been here for several nights now," admitted the
  8. manager, "and he might be glad to split the cost.
  9. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people
  10. in adjoining rooms have complained in the past.  I'm
  11. not sure it'd be worth it to you."
  12.  
  13. "No problem," the tired traveler assured him. "I'll take it."
  14.  
  15. The next morning John, came down to breakfast
  16. bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.  The manager asked him
  17. if he was able to get a good night's sleep.
  18.  
  19. "Never better," replied John.
  20.  
  21. The manager was impressed. "No problem with the other guy snoring,then?"
  22.  
  23. "Nope.  I shut him up in no time."
  24.  
  25. "How'd you manage that?"
  26.  
  27. "He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in
  28. the room," John said.  "I went over, gave him a kiss on
  29. the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful,' and he sat up
  30. all night watching me."
